Landlord FAQs
Answers for owners: posting your ad, handling applications and offers, and keeping your police verification record. Everything here states only what the site itself does — nothing more.
Getting started
You register once with an email code, and later sign-ins include a quick check to keep bots out. Ads are text-only, like newspaper classifieds, and any activation fee is shown on screen before you pay. Post an ad · How the site works
Your ad
Do I have to give a rent amount?
Yes. Owner ads need a rent greater than zero. Only ads posted by the site team may show “Rent on request”.
Will my phone number and street address be public?
No. Your contact details and street address are kept private on the server and shown only to a matched renter after the match and unlock steps.
Can I add photos?
No. ChennaiRentals.one ads are text-only, like newspaper classifieds.
Do I need an account?
Yes. You register once with an email code, and later sign-ins include a quick check to keep bots out.
What do I pay to activate a listing?
The activation fee, if any, is shown on screen before you pay. It is set by the site team and can change, so we do not quote it here.
How long does an ad stay live?
Ads expire automatically after a set period, and expired ads stop appearing in search.
Applications and offers
Where do I see applications for my ad?
On your owner desk. Every application for your ads is listed there, and a copy is emailed to the address on your account.
Who decides whether an applicant is accepted?
You do. ChennaiRentals.one only carries the application; it does not approve applicants or guarantee any rental.
How do I make an offer?
From the application on your owner desk you set the rent, deposit, start date and any terms, then send it. The renter can accept, decline or withdraw it.
Does an accepted offer complete the rental?
No. It is an offer between you and the renter. The site does not hold money, sign a lease or collect rent.
Can a renter see my phone number or address?
No. Your contact details and street address stay private on the server and are released only after a confirmed match and the unlock shown on screen.
Police verification tracker
Can ChennaiRentals.one submit my police verification?
No. You submit on the official Tamil Nadu Police portal yourself. This site only helps you prepare and keep a tracking record.
What is the CRT- number?
It is this site's own reference for your tracker entry. It is not a police number. Add the police portal's acknowledgement number once you have it.
Who can see my tracker entry?
You, the landlord who recorded it for you, and the site admin team. The status is updated by the landlord, so check the official portal for the real position.
Do you keep my ID documents?
Only if you consent, and only until the deletion date you choose. Only the ID type and last four digits are shown on screen.
Does this guarantee a tenant or landlord is safe?
No. It is not a background check and carries no guarantee.
Entries you record for your tenant
Who files the police verification?
You do, on the official Tamil Nadu Police portal. ChennaiRentals.one keeps your tracking record and sends nothing to the police.
Who can update a tracker entry?
Only the landlord who recorded it. A tenant sees the entry if it was saved with their email, but cannot change the status.
Does the site keep a copy of my tracker entries?
Yes. The site admin team can see every entry and status change, and a copy of each one is emailed to the admin inbox.
